Huub Swim Karāpiro
Huub Swim Karāpiro is one of the only fresh open water swim courses in New Zealand. Set on the stunning hydroelectric Lake Karāpiro, a setting that will take your breath away. Huub Swim Karāpiro takes place on Day 1 of the Long Course Weekend New Zealand event, meaning you could be swimming against a field of participants of all abilities over 1km, 1.9km or 3.8km. Karāpiro Rowing Club’s Boat Ramp will be the start and finish site for athletes as they set out and return from the lake in optimal conditions of minimal currents and waves. Spectators can cheer on swim athletes from the lake’s banks and the Sir Don Rowland’s Centre for world-class viewing.

Long Course Weekend New Zealand also has a Cycle event and a Run event. Or if you are feeling brave you can enter the Full Long Course Weekend. Half and Quarter Long Course Weekend options are also available.
